We are pleased to announce that there will be an Easter Fete on April 7th Easter Saturday at the Chateau Lambousa from 11:00am.

As Cancer Week is running from 1st to the 7th April Tulips will be running a multitude of games, stalls, attractions and competitions on the day with the proceeds going to the Tulips Cancer Charity. Also SPOT will be hosting a fun-run.

Competitions will include a tug-of-war and tractor pull with cash prizes, egg-and-spoon, three-legged, sack and wheelbarrow races, fete games and tests of skill. There will also be bands, dancers and other attractions and amusements.

good luck with the volunteers. I told you that you can have me, but 'im downstairs is somewhat limited as to what he can do, but if you can think of something, count him in.

In the meantime, can Gordon or Sue or anyone tell me about the cancer walk. Now that lovely maureen is gone, no one seems to have any idea about it. I thought it was in U.K, but others think we are having one here. Anyone help, please!

Sorry Marcosthechef,I can't really start a new thread as i haven't all the details. Its still all to do with raising money for cancer and research and i have asked Marion for her tel number so i dont need to keep answering her on the board. After hearing you singing at Hoot's thought you might have had a little more patience. It's been a rotten week ,friends dying, road accidents.....I didn't think.

Sorry, I didn't have time to log on yesterday - not enough hours in the day!

We are still looking for volunteers.

We are looking for people to help run the stalls. We will organise and provide the stalls and the necessary games/equipment, we just need volunteers to run them on the day.

We are ideally looking to have 2 people to a stall.

The fete will run from 11am to 5pm (at the latest).

Since posting this event we have had 2 people offer to help and we need more if only because the more volunteers we have, the more stalls we can run and the more money we can raise for Tulips.

If you can help, please either:

1. Email us on: tulipscarole@yahoo.com

2. Tel: 0533 873 1693

Chinaeyes, thank you for answering Marion for me as I don't know anything about this walk,it is not a Tulips event and I do not know the organisers. Your name is on our list of volunteers.

Thank you everyone.

And as part of the special day there will be a Fun Run starting at 11a.m. the proceeds of which will go to Kuskor and SPOT - so it should be a very special fun day of people not only enjoying themselves but helping to raise money to help our friends, human, flippered, and feathered.

things just keep getting better and better here, don't they.

But, Tulips needs Volunteers and the Fun Run will need sponsors.

I can't run, but am prepared to be sponsored to walk/crawl! And willk fit in helping the Succulent Sue in between. Come on - all of you, join in and make it a day to remember.

How is Sue doing for volunteers. Sounds like we are aall going to need a lot of stamina for the day! I haven't got much, but you are welcome to use the little I have. Tthink I have lost some in the outback, but hopefully might restore it between now and April.

good idea Tulips, cos I think it is VERY important that everyone gets a chance to join in the fun, have a go at the stalls, and do their bit to make it successful. So the idea of 3 to a stall sounds great. You haven't told me my job yet! Nothing too difficult please. I am quite a simple soul.

Thank you very, very much to those of you that have bought mini eggs and creme eggs from the UK and donated them to Tulips for our Easter Fete.

Carole and I have been overwhelmed by the generosity of some of the C44 forum readers/members and we know we still have some more to come yet!

We are still collecting!

Once again, thank you.

so Scooby doo what else do you need. the mmore we can donate, the greater the proceeds - but you must tell us what you need. Do you want us to provide mini eggs from here (as in Cyprus). There are some in the shops here (Oz) but not sure about transport, but am happy to lemar Shop (or wherever).

Hi Marion, we need prizes for the adult stalls, so we need sponsors for those. We seem to be sorted for sponsors for the kiddies stalls, but we still need eggs, sweets etc from as many places as possible.

Any ideas, any freebies, anything that will help on the day will be so much appreciated.

Still looking too for volunteers, doing really well out there but we still need more......

Thanks for all your support

hope you are not getting desperate yet, Tulips. Still got 5 weeks to go, but the one thing that worries me a little is the fun run time. But as the fete is due to last all day, I guess it will give helpers a break!

as you all slum, ber, |I am sitting here trying to think, but what kind of prizes do you want, I wonder. Might not some of the shops give some things, but at the moment I cannot thnk what. Has anyone approached any of the supermarkets?????????????????/

Wil continue to think, but I must go out and get some Vitamin D - the sun is a-shining to welcome the day. So I am off to a different kind of 'fair'

I am now back from the very sunny UK (unlike here at the mo!) and back to looking for volunteers.

We still would like a few extra hands for the day so if you are free please drop us a line on:

tulipscarole@yahoo.com

or

tel: 0533 863 1693

If you have already volunteered, is it possible to ask a friend or two to join you?

Thank you all.

As well as all the usual market stalls we now have in excess of 35 attractions and fete games - including the ubiquitous bouncy castle! - and lots of races and competitions.

please note that there is an EASTER BONNET COMPETITION for which many ladies (and perhaps even some fellas!) may want to enter.

Please call 0533 863 1693 for more details.

Pearl and the Stringfellas are now confirmed for the afternoon's entertainment.

There are also a few local notables taking part in the fun-run.

Also, we are looking for volunteers for the Stocks 'n Sponge. Ian and I are both taking part - but at commensurate prices

Sounds like it is going to be a great day out. Make sure you have it in your diaries as all proceeds from fun stalls and races are going to Tulips.

It will be a great day out for the kids and the adults, loads of prizes on the stalls, Easter Egg Hunt for the kiddies, Guess the name of the Bunny and how many eggs in a jar, Darts stalls, Coconut Shy, to name but a few, also the races, 3-legged, Sack and Egg and Spoon for adults as well as children (well we are all children at heart!) - so make sure you come along along and throw a few sponges at Gordon and Co.

Still looking for volunteers to man the stalls etc.

And don't forget the fun run in aid of SPOT etc.

Is this stocks and sponge thing likely to be messy. In other words, if I volunteer for people to be nasty to me, cvan I get all washed up to enjoy the rest of the day???

Hi Marion,

You are now down on the list so no backing out now!

How much do you think people will pay to soak you?

You can 'put' yourself together again.

IOh dear. Me and my big mouth! And I don't even know what is involved. do I wear my polka dot bikini, or a '#wet suit'? shucks.

as to what people will pay, well, i guess it depends how much they dislike me. Obviously revenge is sweet, but if it means lots of money for tulips to help people , then I guess any suffering on my part is well worth it.

Just one other question - how long is this indignity to last!?

Many many fete games to play.

Also, if you haven't already, please sign up for the fun run.

You will be supporting the Tulips Cancer Charity, the Society for the Protection of Turtles and North Cyprus Bird Group - all extremely worthwhile causes.
