Can you buy either a pay as you go dongle in TRNC or one with just a month's use or do you have to get involved in a 12 month contract? In any case how much does any of this cost and how efficient are they?

As far as I know, you can buy a month or whatever. We use a Telsim dongle, have done for 18 months and it is excellent. We buy 3GB a month, for the year and is perfect for all emails and surfing. Perhaps not enough for downloading. Go to any Telsim shop and they will help. Same applies for Turkcell.

Turkcell do dongles-you can use them on a pay as you go basis-I think the dongle cost about 80-90tl.

they are useful for power cuts etc .

The top ups are I think 2 gig going up to 10 gig, but beware you lose any credit after a month from what I can work out.

I got mine at Lemar Karakum- the young chap in there is very helpful.

I have had my Turkcell dongle for about 2 years. I cannot remember exactly what it cost but think it was in the region of £70. I usually top it up at Karakum Lemar, or sometimes, at the Turkcell Office near the Lefkosa roundabout. 2 GB costs 40 TL for 30 days, and 4 GB costs 60 TL. I have found it to be very reliable.

With all of the Wi fi connections in TRNC you would find it hard pressed not to connect any more. However we have both a Turkcell dongle and a micro sym for I pad just to use in the remote areas if we stay such as the mountain area's
