What to do when we visit North Cyprus

Hello

My husband and I are visiting Northern Cyprus from 24/03/12-01/04/12 for his 40th birthday and a very delayed honeymoon.

Does anyone have any advice for us whilst we are visiting and also anything going on that we can be a part of, festivals etc. Also any recommendations as well would be much appreciated.

Visit Bellapais.

Visit St Hilarion, Buffavento & Kantara castles.

Wander round the harbour.

Drive up to the Karpaz and have a meal at Hemmingway's Restaurant at the new Marina.

Drive through the mountains.

Visit the old part of Lefkosa around the Mosque and the Buyukhahn, eat at Sabor behind the mosque and wander around the shops.

Drive along the coast road west to Vouni Palace and Soli.

Salamis and Famagusta also a great day out.

Eat at any of the restaurants, there are various cuisines available.

Have a lovely trip and enjoy yourselves.

I am sure others will come up with other ideas for you as well.

Forgot to say if you want to be pampered The Acapulco Hotel Spa has a couples package as, I am sure, do the other big hotels.

Might assist if you indicated the rough area that you propose to use as your base. Bring some warm clothes for the evening!

if you like walking,a walk that takes in the village of Karaman is a great day out.

You could go on one of the excellent orchid walks with Tony Hutchinson - see this forum for details and the Tepibasi tulip festival is a delight - not to be missed, you can also go on a guided tulpi walk around Tepibasi - absolute magic if you are nature lovers!
