Hi,im am thinking of bringing my car for 1 year to trnc,its 6 years old,i know i have t remove it from trnc in a year,my questionis why dont i simply go south and sell it there,it seems i would get a good price aswell as no hassle in "deporting" my car,cheers

HA ha not as easy as that, you car has arrived here by car ferry not the car fairy, to be sold in the South it has to be imported by sea.

if its the same % as trnc , they go by book price plus 40% or they did a few years back , you would be better to sell in the uk and buy in trnc ,

Not viable to dispose of it anywhere in Cyprus.

Dump it, or ship it back to the UK and sell it.

timaloy The way things stand at the moment it's doubtful that you would be granted permission to keep it here in the North for a year without registering it on local plates and paying the import duties.

So if it were on TRNC plates it would be a great inhibitor to getting a sale in the RoC plus the RoC only recognises goods imported through Limassol.

Best of luck!

Dolphin can take it back to the uk then send it to limassol then you pay import tax and sell it for peanuts sounds like a money making scheme.

correct rowlo,my problem is that the cars absaloute mint condition,ive been travelling for a few years,hardly run in to be trueful,its an x5 so its difficult to sell in uk because of road tax/fuel consumption etc ,i could sell it but at a ridiculous figure, 90% drop in cost,i would rather bring irt here,but its just turned 6 years old,hence i cant even have the choice of paying import tax even if i choose to,i thought i could use the year grace(if available) and sell it south,looks like all loops have been closed

timaloy;

If you had owned the car since new and you are not a resident of trnc,you can import it.
