Arrived at the Old Mill, Ozankoy, (the Home of Rugby!!!) on Saturday at 3.45 to have something to eat and then watch the Wales v Italy game @ 4.30 (having travelled from Nicosia). As there were only a couple of other people around I asked whether (a) could we get something to eat and (b) was the match being shown?).The response to was, 'ummm, I'll see what the chef says...and 5 minutes later the chef comes out to say 'no menu but we could do you an omelette or something...'. In the meantime, response to (b) was 'who's playing? then 'oh yes we will probably show it'. Home of Rugby - a joke!!

I have no bias either way re. what I have seen on the Forum on the somewhat pathetic argument about who is who is not the 'official' home of the Pumas rugby club . I am a mere rugby enthusiast who watches TV games and live games both on the south and north side of the Island.

So I would suggest Mr. chrism from the Old Mill either get your act together or don't advertise the rugby.

How many people watched the game at the Old Mill with you? Atmosphere is important I think. The more the merrier. Was there a decent size screen to watch the game on? Are there better venues to watch matches such as this?

Great atmosphere for the England game in the Old Mill yesterday and lots of genuine rugby enthusiasts of all nationalities. I don't understand what all the fuss is about!

Always found it ok myself, the few times I've been. Depends what you're used to, I suppose.

Perhaps there is/was a dearth of Welsh fans..Leading to a poor atmosphere?

We always go to The Old Mill for rugby - can't fault it!

We were there on Saturday for both matches ~ really enjoyed it. We didn't have any food on this occasion but lots of people were ordering. Always good food and a warm welcome.

Can't wait for Saturday!!! What a day they have planned ~ rugby, barbeque food, and live music ~ what more could you want!!!!!

Msg. 12

Agree Celebrity is a great venue ~ just depends which side of Girne you live and which venue is most convenient. East of Girne it's got to be The Old Mill (imho)
