Dead turtle at Mare Monte/Lambousa

I have got this third hand via Alsancak Belediyesi. It has been reported to them that there is a dead turtle on the shore at Lambousa. If there are any interested parties that would want to retrieve the body then unfortunately that is all the information that I have.

thanks, have passe don the info. SPOT will be very interested as they are compiling statistics of these sad deaths to try to discover a pattern.

Many thanks for the info and the phone call.



I contacted the lady who checks that area and she went to check it out this morning. It WAS the one she had a couple of weeks ago, so it had been logged. When they are checked their carapace is marked (this one Blue) so as not to be re-done. In some cases they are buried but others left, not easy for a lady to bury on her own. It also helps if they are washed out and onto another location, we all know they have been already checked out.

Thanks for the update and I will pass contact details onto Alsancak Belediyesi. I had the call from a friend at the Belediyesi and no one was really quite sure what to do about it. At least they will be able to contact the people that need to know directly now.

It is sad, I found one washed up near the old runway in Catalkoy, very sad to see. It was buried but somebody dug it up and took it.....not a job I would want to do as it was a bit pongy...
