Please could someone tell me if the 3 network skype mobile phones work in the Bacheli area, if not do they work anywhere in the north.

Someone on here said that they have 3G working in Esentepe.



I am keeping tabs on it for when i visit in April.

I have tested the 3G signal in Bahceli,it will not pick up the UMTS or HSDPA signal,only GPRS.Although you can connect to the internet it is very slow.

I must point out I only tested this in lower Bahceli near the road.The nearest 3G mast is at the Golf course,another at the power station so those near the sea might get better results.

Have been informed that Turkcell are upgrading the mast at the bottom of Bahceli to 3G,should be operational in 2-4weeks.

We have used 3 network skype mobiles to make calls to friends in Bahceli from the UK, the quality of call was better than calling locally in Doncaster. Don't know whether they work from TRNC to UK, I will be able to answer that one in March when my wife is over there and she tries to skype me from her mobile.
