Would like to thank all for their advice over the last few months. My wife and i recently came back from north cyprus and have purchased in Karoglanoglu. It should be ready in about 18mths time hopefully. We visited many places and with different agents and eventually bought through Donaghy and Beyler who were very professional and not out for the hard sell. I would recommend them without any hesitation. Anyone looking to visit should use this forum first as the advice is second to none and do not believe any of the propoganda about the north, it is a wonderful place and the people will bend over backwards for you.

Looking forward to holidaying there for the next few years.

karaoğlanoğlu is a lovely developing but not spoilt and a good location to get to girine merkez (centre) and all other locations

im glad you found donaghy and beyler helpfull not hard on you to push a sale thats why i also recommend this company to anyone not just because i know them but because they are very professinal in a sector where there is a lot of cowboys like what our good friend eager had said lol (thats all he said then he disappeared of the forum)

also im glad you found the forum very helpfull, there are people on this forum that know what they are talking about so stick to it if you need any more help - ideas or info

take care and if you do need any more help please dont hesitate in posting me or any other poster for help

We have an apartment in Girne but are looking to buy a villa and are focusing on the Karaoğlanoğlu area - it was the first place we stayed at (Top Set Hotel) in 2003 and our children (now grown up) still refer to it as 'Kara gan ag ag alu'. There is a man there who does reupholstery and it amuses us that he works with a cigarette constantly in his mouth (no 'elf and safey!) and that at night the suites are left outside on the pavement!

As others have said karaoğlanoğlu is a nice area and is likely to get quite a lot better once the Girne bypass is finished (no-one knows when that will be) and there is less traffic.
