We stayed there when it first opened a couple of years ago. Very nice Hotel, large pool and right on the beach. We paid something like £42 per person per night all inclusive. We only stayed the one night. Last year we fancied going there again for the week-end. I called them and asked them if they had a room available only to be told that the price had increased to £145 per person per night. Needless to say we didn't bother going there.

I can't understand why people say this hotel is impressive. It is OTT and when we visited all the water fountains on the walk to the beach were broken. The paving was cracking up and it had just opened. It reminded me of the hotels in Las Vegas, Tacky Tacky Tacky. This of course is only my opinion and one man's meat is another man's poison. I wouldn't waste my money going there again.

I agree that the place is a bit 'OTT'. The pool for example is much too big. However at £42 per person per night ALL inclusive Full board - it was a bargain.. I think the Mercure is a better hotel though.

Sorry, The building is impressive by any standard, agree some slabbing could have been done better, fountains were working last summer when spent 2 separate days there 100ytl per adult per day for use of facilities and including excellent buffet lunch.Children free. Mine and families opinion, Very enjoyable days .

Looks amazing place, but what's the food like? Have a very fussy girlfriend who'll love the whole casino/spa vibe but is on a restricted diet. Also, looks like it's a bit in the middle of nowhere - how easy is it to 'get out and about' without a car? Thanks! Darren

Visited last September, booked through the Cyprus 44 hotel service, approx £60pp full board plus, all meals plus local drinks with meals. We stayed in the bungalows, certainly not 4 star, stayed in a Travel Lodge in the UK recently which was a better standard. and room twice the size. The Artemis snagging manager needs to be shot. Suggest you book the main hotel which is a little more.

The Hotel itself is pretty good, the Spa and treatments equal any at top hotels. All meals are taken in a large building Butlins style. Vast amounts of food catering for Turkish palette. Beach is great.

hi. My hubby and I stayed for Chirstmas 2008 and certainly thought it was worth staying in as the architecture is so different. However it does cater for the Turkish market and we were the only europeans there. I think we paid £70.00 full board plus (local drinks free with meals) and thought the food was amazing. The beach was lovely, complete with lovely sandy coloured dog, who stayed on the beach and was friendly. The outside pool is amazing but it was too cold to use when we were there. We stayed in the apartments which were fine, peaked into a hotel room and thought the apartment rooms was nicer and roomier. I was very disappointed with the indoor pool area - quite plain and small. I would say to go if you haven't but I would rate the Mercure much better - their circular pool area and louingers around the pool are better

Anyone used or been to this recently, was planning a short break over there in June and interested in an overnighter but also i hear you can use it for the day (all meals & drinks included) for a set price.

Any comments....

We took a look around last October

A very impressive building, totally OTT but well worth a look

I think they are already in financial difficulty, a lot of things looked very tatty, and maintenance and gardening was obviously being scrimped on

I wouldn't pay the 100tl of whatever for a day pass, but then again I'm a tight-wad ....

I used it last summer for 75tl you get to use the facilities, pool, bars etc. Buffet lunch is included and was amazing and included wine and beer etc. But only opened for two hours. Paid extra for thai massage etc. Certainly would go there again. Also Bafra Municipality beach which is adjacent is opening a new beach side restaurant this season and a new beach bar, it is looking really good. The Noahs Ark resort hotel is coming along nicely and other projects south of the Kaya Artemis are also continuing, a bit behind schedule I would guess but eventually the area should attract a lot of tourists.

And don't forget to drop into Bogaz Harbour on the way through ;)

P.S. There is a buzz going around that Bogaz is best!!!!

We went for lunch last year.

Had 5 courses plus wines, beers, cokes & coffees. Fantastic.

When I asked for the bill, they said it's complimentary. I said, I'm not staying, or gambling, they said, no problem.

Who said "There's no such thing......." you know the rest!
