we will be arriving in larnaca around 10pm and going over the border at nicosia can anyone tell me what time the office closes to get car insurance.

If the office is closed then smile sweetly at the immigration officer and ask if they will phone the insurance guy. We have done this at 0230 and waited no more than 20 mins

Hi

My arrival was about the same time...with a bit of a delay....got to the border at 2.15pm and could not cross untill the insurance office opened at 6.45am ( slept in car )...a nice smile may get the insurance guy out of bed...then again, it may not!

Closes about 1.30 - 2am opens between 6.30ish - 7am

I know you can arrange this from the UK ... I lost the number of the guy I used to "cover " (Third party- and only approx £2.2K covered ) the car I frequently took over from Limas(s)ol



He would leave a cover note for me or I could call him - if late at night - and he would appear .. he even accepted credit cards over the phone.



Someone on here must know of a better way than waiting / sleeping in the car..

There are no BORDERs.. the checkpoints across the cease-fire line are always open.
