Hi everyone.

We have just received notification from our solicitor about the reduction in transfer charges. can anyone shed any light on wjen the 90 days, came into force?

Is this going to turn into another registration/stamp duty fiasco?

Any information would be gratefully received.

This was first mentioned in local papers on 9th January but best to assume that it was effective from 1st January so will continue until 31st March. There are also rumours that the discount will be extended but don't bank on it.

I too received information from our lawyer today re the reduction in Transfer Charges and 2% of the Capital Gains Tax.

This is quite mystifying to us and any help that anyone can give would be appreciated

Thanks from e too cooper.

We received PTP last year, and are in process of transferring deeds. Were told last Sept that it should all be completed within 3 months. We contacted our advocate asking whether the new reduction will apply to us, to be told that our developers still aren't ready to transfer, and it may possibly be another 3 months.

Just our luck the offer will have finished.

Thanks from me too, I am very grateful for this detailed explanation. We have a different solicitor, who so far has ignored my emails regarding this matter.

Much appreciated.
