The weather has changed so sudden that it may be better to check whether the walk (this Sunday) is on or not. Call me Sunday morning if in doubt: 0533 864 5433.

Good morning, Gary! You have email now... Sorry, organising and mailing about the walks is more work than I expected and errors can occur - STILL get email about fully booked walks and have to answer them all!

I wish to thank all participants (Kyrenia Walk 1) who made such a fine and interested group this Sunday morning! It was a pleasure to talk to you en route! Although we almost drowned near the north east tower of Kyrenia Castle (did it ever rain SO hard in Northern Cyprus..?) I do hope you enjoyed what you saw - hopefully most of it for the first time - in old Kyrenia!

So sorry I was not able to be there, and even more sorry tha tyou got rained upon from a great height, but we had no rain here and I was kicking myself that I could not come. But now I feel better!

But what you don't say is whether you finished the walk or what more was there to see.

At least, it is doubtful that anyone will forget the experience!!!!

Dear Marion, after hiding under too few and badly damaged umbrellas (I forgot to mention the wind in msg 6...), after getting wet as never before in TRNC - we called it a day without voting... So: no, we didn't quite finish the walk and there was more to see. But not today...

Just to say thanks for a really interesting morning. Sorry we didn't quite finish, but I walked down areas that I had not visited before and found it really informative. I look forward to finding out more about the history of Kyrenia and this lovely island.

Hans,

Thank you for the knowledge that you shared with us today - it was truly an experience!

Is it possible to purchase the Map & CD at the Lambousa Market? I was too wet to attempt this at the point we all dispersed.

Sue.

RE msg 10, ChesterSue1: (...) I was too wet (...)

=> Hi Sue! Did you notice that all afternoon, at least in Yesiltepe, it was beautiful weather..?! Grrr!

Yes, the laminated map and the CD with the lecture "Kyrenia, its five Castles and the Walled Town" are available at the stall at the Saturday Lambousa Market in Lapta. The text on the CD (including maps, pictures and drawings) is much more extended than I could do while walking with the group. You'll find there also all other readings I did for the "Medieval Cyprus Fellowship" and medieval music.

I guess half a walk is better than no walk, but it seems unfair you were all punished! For everyone's sake I hope the next ones are dryer as far as the weather is concerned, but not the talk!

I can honestly say it was a great walk. All of my family enjoyed it thoroughly. A little wet towards the end but well worth the effort. A BIG "Thank you" Mr Doelman.
