A source of mine tells me hbpg been sidelined ?? As there is one organisation that is liaising with the government on behalf of British residents ( sod any non British residents ) so there is one voice for the said Nationality !! A certain Lady has been made almost persona non gratis in the government offices.... And sunny Cyprus are not retuning her call so the hbpg web site can be updated !! Are the &"£% really goiung to sort the property issues out for all regardless of if you are a member or not ?? In the wors of one top member of the &"£% we are only dealing with the top people in goverment !! yea finger on the pulse at ground level knowing what issues other than is g & t on the table are at the top of the agenda ??

Interpreting correctly '&"£%' as the BRS, all I can say is that they are not fit for purpose! God help those that are in a right pickle with their properties! Richard

I heard this little gem yesterday at Pia Bella. Why should another organisation come along puttings ots size 12's in when there is already somebody doing a good job. If the BRS were genuine about helping they would have teamed up with Marian and co to form a larger bridgehead with all of the available contacts. Instead the BRS are going to split the fight against the builders, estate agents etc. It is as if they are sideing with the government so we never achieve our aims. Strange isn't it, the BRS claim 1,200 members where as the HBPG numbers in the thousands of people helped. So BRS prats think about what you are doing, liase with all involved otherwise we will end up with nothing. Odd really, we were thinking of joining the "modernising" BRS but they can f*** that now.

RE msg 1, fire_starter (...) on behalf of British residents ( sod any non British residents ) (...) => I'm still very proud to be the first non-British (associated) member of the BRS.

'Where have the BRS been these last five years? ' Ans- Not rocking the boat, Now they have woken up and realised 'Something is rotten in the state of Denmark',what the HBPG knew years ago and has been trying work with the Govt to sort. Better late than never but hope theY combine efforts with HBPG.

| Has any group no matter who/what they are actually achieved anything that has resulted in a) The actual return of any monies owed (not just legal papers. ie Judgements) b) The actual resolution of any problems, and resolutions that have actually come to fruition It would be interesting to see a list of achievements of any one group - we don't think th. We as ABAG met, Mr Soyer, Mr Avci, Mr Uzan, and Pervin Guerler (C of Police) but to name a few, but as in true TC Style all these people we have named and other high ranking officials that we haven't named nodded their heads and assured us of their personal assistance - perhaps this is what all the other groups experience. The ministers and others are very good at making themselves look interested during a face to face meeting but as soon as one leaves and one shuts the door behind one, one is forgotten !!!! but when it comes to the nitty gritty of forging a solution lets face it - they really don't give a damn !

AGA Buyers AG, you're not suggesting that for the last 4 years HBPG has not only been wasting its time courting the government but they have also managed to sideline those who believe that visibly protesting would have achieved more results? If this is true then I find that most disturbing.

no of course not Marian and the HBPG have to be commended for what they have tried to acheive for EVERY group and not just individuals. They have worked tirelessly for all who have approached them.. All we ask is who has actually received a result whether it be from the PCO, BRS, HBPG or even the lowly ABAG - and we can catatgorically state we haven't got anywhere near a solution even though we have done verything that we have been told to do - especially as regards the PCO by collating ours and others details for them All we are asking is Is there anyone and we mean anyone who has got a solution Perhaps that then will put a stop to the backbiting that occurs whether it be to the HBPG, BRS or anyone else - someone somewhere must have got somewhere !

I know that Marion, myself and several others started HBPG in September 2005 because of our own property problems so she should have at least sorted out her own problem.

There must be someone who has achieved a real solution with the help of HBPG, rather than just government promises! Ex-HBPG founder Stuart Hillard FRICS helped us solve our boundary problem.

Hi all. My pennyworth for what it is worth. Marion Stokes is a woman of the highest integrity, who has fought tirelessly for distressed property owners in The TRNC. She does not charge for her services, and somehow manages to produce remarkable results. Ask Santa Fe owners or management if it comes to that. Now who could compete with that? A class act, in my humble opinion. Another TRNC ex pat generated baseless rumour? wynyardman wynyardman

I hold Marian in very high regard, but I have been trying to contact her for over 6 months without success. I can help the HBPG with their website (for free) if needed
