Can I renew my driving liceince before it expires!

Also can I renew for 5 years,I passed my test 2years 2 months ago.

Why not pop into the tax office in Girne or Lefkosia and ask.



As I understand it, you can have 1, 5 or 10 years. Just ask and then pay. I don't think they penalise you for length of time driving, for as I understood it, it is a matter of personal choice. Mind you when I went to renew mine, the lady tried to get me to go for just one year (that was Girne), so I shot off to Lefkosia on the advice of someone and got my 10 years. My husband chose to have for 5.



But the only place to get the whole truth is the office itself. I assume you know where they are, and the advantage now is that they are open morning AND afternoon.

After passing your test you are licenced for one year ,after that you can go for one year

after that 1/3/5/10 years depending on your choice/cost

Maybe the place to go is the office in town. The place where you get your road fund is also the place for driving lic\ences. There is a lovely young lady in there, who will either tell you or point to a notice on the wall (if there is one0. This is far more reliable than those of us who are out of date advising what we think.

The office is open mornings and afternoons. I guess the place in Nicosia also would give the info, depending on where you live - or get a friend to do it for you.

You can apply in the same week that your licence expires

with regard to cost 3yrs 200tl/5yrs 300tl
