Hello all,

I am putting together a site for reviewing restaurants and bars in North Cyprus and would like all who are interested to put as many details of thier establishment together and send it to me.



If you check out the site you will see "bar review" and "restaurant review" tabs at the top right, you can have a look at the alphabetic indexes on those pages and try some of the places already on the site, L and G's place is pretty up to date.

The more you send, the more I can oput on there.



By the way, it is free for the first 7,500 establishments so hurry while pages last.

And for all those who don't own an establishment but would like to recommend a place or review a specific item about a place. If the place already has a page then go to the page and add your comment below the establishment details.

If it doesn't already have a page then add it to the home page comments box below the posts.



When you add a comment it will ask for name and e-mail address, this is not a joining system of any kind, the first time you post it requires a moderator check to avoid spam but after the first is accepted all future posts will go straight on but in order to know you have posted before it needs your e-mail and name to verify you. Your e-mail address will not be published anywhere and you can use any name yopu want as long as you remember it for the next time.

If as a couple of people who have already posted may have noticed, you have your own website, add that and it might set up a link from your name on the comment.



Please add info, it makes the world spin.

Well blow me down, free advertising for any business that wants it and a chance for people to put thier opinions about places without any stick from others and nearly nobody shows interest.



Come on folks, I only even started this because of the hassle from last week and for those of you who want to be loyal to C44, click the link to the site and click the C44 link back and you have already increased Izzet's hits for every trip.

I suppose I am jumping the gun a bit for expecting the businesses to write in, they are probably all working at the moment.

I am surprised that there haven't been any customer reviews yet though although maybe the members are waiting till they go out next,

I can just copy them from the forum but then they just come up as posted by admin on the site and it kind of defeats the point.

I have a couple more venues to add this morning and as soon as people start adding the reviews it should be a very useful site. As with everything in NC though it is up to the people to use it and I will happily mantain it with assistance from my helper elves.



I should mention that I am considering doing a sister site to this in Russian.

What a bloody good site. This has to be the place for all restaurants to be seen. No more searching on 44, just straight in, all the info you need at the press of a button! All menus, every day, reviews and comments. Lets hope that ALL establishments use this site.

One can only hope that it gets utilised. There are a few people using it so far. I am sure that there will be many more when the word gets around.

I have only been posting it on C44 so far, if anyone can suggest how to get it out to the rest of the restaurants and bars who don't use this site, please advise.

Do a flyer that people can drop off at the bars and restaurant to let them know .Also ask people on here who run other forums to place on theres so that you can have a direct link from your own site

Already ahead of you on the forums thing Keith in fact 1 of the forums is one I built but the flyer idea would cost money and as the site is free, I make nothing out of it. I got burned badly the last time I put my own money into something in NC and I aint doing it again.

I have plans for a more elaborate site that I will be charging for advertising but that isn't ready yet so I am looking for free ways to inform the businesses at the moment.

Had a look at the site and I think (for what it's worth) that it's a great idea. It's easy to access, too, which is a bonus. I must say that I am surprised (your message 27) that places you have contacted have not taken you up on this, particularly when you say they have put their own posts on here.

Just some info for those that have registered as users on the site.

This will not really be of any use exept for me to send out e-mails if you want updates.



If you have a business as a couple of you do then I need you to send me details by mail or at least a link to a website if you have one.



I could just open a page with the name of your establishment but without any contact info it will look very bare, I would like at least a phone contact, small description and e-mail address. at least one photo would also make it just a little better. If you have any daily specials or offers I can add that too but if you don't have a website I need to be sent the details.

Sorry to be boring but so many people commented that this was a great idea and yet hardly anyone is using it.

I have seen threads that are over 6 months old being re-opened about top 3 restaurants and I have seen several comments about how good a place is, please take a few moments and write the restaurants you like and what you like about them in the website comments, it doesn't really matter where you write the comments or even if the restaurant or bar has been added yet, I can change the location of the comment afterward to any where it needs to go.

This will give all of us an idea where to go next for entertainment and if it becomes an esatblished enough restaurant the tourists might actually get some use out of it and help bring some income to NC.

I am trying to set up a rating system so that you can rate each venue and then it will be possible to put the results on 44.

Owners, I hope you can see this as a useful idea for you too, free advertising.
