health check for your dog in Catalkoy

Has anyone taken their dog to be registered/health check in Catalkoy today? Leaflet thru my door says it is today and tomorrow 9-1pm. If anyone has done this today could you let me know what exactly happens? Thanks

Health checks today were by the cemtery behind tempo and the lodge you register your dog get it mot'ed and there some free jabs not sure what .Be warned don't stray to far down with your dogs as we are currently being terrorised by a rotti and 2 pits that are being keep in an empty house for fighting and breeding have attacked 4 dogs killing and eating 2 plus 1attack on a resident.

Jeez!!!! Dog fighting is illegal the world over...including here!!!



If you are totally sure they are being kept for fighting, then it should definitely be reported to the police!!



This is one of the most disgusting 'sports' ever...i truly have difficulty in getting my head around it!

Along with dog fighting, cock fighting is also very prevelant here. Couple of years ago friends were staying at a hotel in Alsancak and wondered what all the men were doing in the car park, yes watching the cock fighting.



No good calling the police, they are probably there betting with the rest.

It is not a health check but just registration. Queues are long due to the inefficiency of the 5 staff writing out the documents.

You just need to take your registration book and pay lots of money (45tl for bitches and 22tl for dogs) and get a free worming tablet and registration. Allow an hour in the queue.

If your bitches have been spayed then take along their vets record card to prove it or you will be charged the unspayed amount, 35tl. dogs are 12tl

Neutered dogs should only be 12Tl as well. Our vet yesterday said to make sure we only paid 12 for each of ours. The part in Turkish on the back says 12Tl for male and female neuters.



Wonder if they will make sure that the Rotties and the pits mentioned earlier in the thread are registered!

You should be worming your dogs every three months, don't wait for the health checks, do it for yourself.



DD, cyprusishome is right in what he is saying. Dog fighting does go on here and the police are unlikely to get involved.

Yes it was purely registration - 12tl and 10tl for the tablets. No-one asked to see the dog!!

Went this morning, to long a queues yeterday, did not take my dog but all documentation that was checked. First in the queue this morning at 0845, left at 0910, about a diozen waiting.
