Great family-run restaurant on main coastal road at Lapta. Sevket, his wife and children make you extremely welcome and once discovered it is a place you will want to go back to. The menu is small but everything is cooked to order and is delicious. The specials (which need to be pre-booked) are especially good. This is home cooking at its best with friendly and efficient service.

Only ever had 1 meal there, we never had a menu he just told us what was on so couldnt check the prices, so when the bill came it was a little expensive. We will never get caught like that again.

Message 2, we had a similar experience, although we did have a menu, we were just given a price at the end of the meal on a scrap of paper. I told them I thought they had got it wrong and I wanted an itemised bill. Suddenly it was all apologies and yes they had got us mixed up with another table. We've never been back either and we didn't leave a tip!

Been there a couple of times. A really interesting guy - I believe he was the Mayor of Lapta for a few years...Loves to talk and amazing stories of the conflict in 1974. I don't remember it being expensive...

so come on - what ARE the prices. And tellme, Westender, do you think it was a genuine mistake, or???? (and I almost hate to use the words 'Rip off)

As to message 4, I love to talk and i love to listen, but I still need to know at what cost.

thanks, but don't think my 'tight Wadder' husband |(he has to be careful as he has me to spend his money) would be happy to go anywhere and not know what he was spending. Is this restaurant popular? I have driven past for years, but never been tempted to pop in. 40tl is a bit more than we normally pay for a steak, but maybe it is a plate sized portion.

But thanks again for the info. Don't think i will dare venture. Will stick to the places I know and love and trust.

Fewer customers so one charges more to make up for lost revenue.

Is this good business thinking ? Because it's endemic here.

Last time I was there, it was a cold Easter Day and the best thing on the menu was a hot bowl of soup
