I know there are so many dogs out here in Northern Cyprus especially at Kar who need a home but I am desperate to find one for a very loving medium sized dog who has gone through so much and deserves a chance. Anyone who can help, recently lost a dog and wants to replace it, please get in touch. She is good with other dogs and cats.

Perhaps it would help if you could post the following information: Type of dog, colour, age, whether spayed, injected, wormed etc and a photo if possible might help her cause. Is this a street dog or a pet you are trying to home.

Thks for reply Tango1... Yes she is a street dog she was found 12 months ago half starving, pregnant and only a puppy herself, my partner and I who have a holiday home we visit on ocassions took her up to Kar who obviously couldn't take her but agreed to abort the pups (she was only early in the pregnancy) spay her, micro-chip, injections, etc to which we paid for all her treatment. Unfortunately they had to put her back at the place she was found 10 days later so a rosta was formed by neighbours to feed her. As is usually the case certain people drop out and it was left to just a few to do the daily feeding. She decided she was happy on our front porch but the situation at the moment is that my house has now been rented and the tenants do not want the dog on "their" property which is only to be expected. This is why we are desperately seeking a new home and as quick as possible. She is a brown and white cross spaniel of medium size with a lovely face and those doulful eyes

Oh dear Suzie, yet another one. What can we all say, but just keep on trying wherever you can. Photo's on electric poles, a photo on this board and a lot of mental stamina to keep going at it. Sometimes it works. Good luck. T1

Lucy is now up at Willenco so if anyone is maybe thinking about her but wondering what she looks like, temperament, etc I am sure Lena will accommodate by introducing you to her. She loves children as she has spent time with my two grandchildren this summer, they loved her. Willenco tel no: 05428800123/05338883355

Are you absolutely sure tht your new tenants won't take her on? If she flashes those beautiful soulful eyes at them, they may change their mind, particularly as the feeding is spread between a few other people?

Tango1.. If this had been possible there is no way that she would be now at Willenco. They DO NOT want a dog and are only here for 1-year anyway then back to UK. I would have loved to have left her were she is but it wasn't possible I have exhausted all options, as I said before if I have to walk the streets with Lucy and a placard on my back then I will as the only option if I don't find her a new home before returning back to the UK would be to have her put to sleep and this at this moment in time IS NOT AN OPTION I WILL ALLOW TO HAPPEN....... If there is someone out there who has just lost a dog seriously thinking of getting one then maybe it could be worth looking at Lucy as she is house trained, obedient, excellent with children other dogs and cats, multi-lingual (answers to both Turkish and English - clever girl!) loves riding in the car and is an absolute treasure to have around.............. please, please, please think about it?

If anyone does offer to take Lucy she comes with her own des-res (plastic kennel) so she would have shelter in bad weather.

Hi Suzie ...Just been reading all about Lucy I really can`t blame your new tenants not wanting the dog if you had seen the terrible state your porch was in and they cleaned it up themselves it would have put anyone off, but more to the point what happened to the des-res!! she had and really needed it for some shade in the summer.

Update on Lucy! I am in touch with Willenco who have assured me that Lucy is in good health and is a very friendly dog. I have not had any positive replies and I am getting worried that no-one will come forward to re-home Lucy. I have read all blogs relating to "Smudge" and just when the lady thought all was lost someone came to the rescue. I am sure there must be someone out there who wants a loving companion maybe as I said before someone who has recently had to have their dog put down through old age. She may have been still up in KAR if we hadn't interviened as genuine animal lovers do, but the people who have been feeding her all have dogs and lots of them all been rescued one way or another. The situation is becoming urgent and I cannot afford to keep her up at the private kennels indefinately so please if there is anyone out there "thinking about one" please get in touch or alternatively arrange to see her at the kennels........you won't be disappointed. Thanks Suzie
