Yes, I used them and they were excellent, even though I did not want to pay £40 just for myself, howeever, I believe the offer was only until 15th March, so Lindsay you are too late on the date. opdefully he can find someone else comingback and being picked up. I was fortunate to have that for my outward journey. Sorry I cannot be of more help but if you want the number, I can give it, but it will be £50 which is average price.

good luck. I found the £40 a lot of money for one, but surely there is some kind soul that might be going shopping that day who could come on down to get you. I hope so. As I say, good luck.

yes john appreciate it greatly ... the lowest taxi price apperas to be £40 ... [its long way for £40] but when you are backwards and forward regularly.it soon mounts up ...lot of money too when you are travelling on your own .....cheers

Lindsay Just a suggestion for you have you thought about taking the Kapnos bus shuttle into Nicosia from Larnaca? Very easy and regular services, they have a desk in Larnaca airport. They drop you off at their terminal in Nicosia for 7 euros, its about a half hour walk to Ledra Street or 4 euros in a taxi. Cross the border and get a local bus to Girne or Alsanack for 5 Lira. Good company.

I think the bus option is financially great for one, except that walk over at Ledra Street if you have heavy cases etc, and you need to walk over at Ledra Palace for ease of getting bus, etc. I have done it, and on a hot day it was a killer. But if there are two of you, then the taxi although expensive becomes cheaper. Just hope someone comes out of the woodwork and offers to help.

Kapnos bus - Larnaca > Nicosia cost us €17 each, I think. When you arrive at the Kapnos Terminal building, walk down to the dual carriage way and cross to the opposite lane via the overhead bridge where you'll see a bus stop just a few metres from the bottom of the bridge. Soon you'll find that a bus will come and I think most head for Eleftheria Square [Freedom Square] - cost €2. Of course, this bus cannot get right into the square but stops one street above the square. Just cross the road into the square, walk down Ledra [shopping] Street and get a friend to meet you at the Lokmaci Crossing. That is coming from Larnaca - to do the journey the other way, walk up Ledra Street [from Lokmaci Crossing] > turn right at the top of Ledra Street and walk along the road until you come to the big bus terminal. From there you can take a normal Nicosia suburban bus [ can't remember the number - I think it's 68 - they'll soon tell you at the bust station enquiry office]. Cont'd....

Ask the bus driver to stop at the Melkonian Institute - scheduled stop] and then walk to the Kapnos Terminal to take a bus to Larnaca Airport. If there's two of you, frankly it's better to take a £50 taxi from Girne [£40 if you can score one!] and avoid the extra travelling time involved, changinging buses and walking hauling suitcases! Hope this helps!
