Hi Clarets

Have a look at the paintwork on the outside to see if there are any cracks. If so you'll need to get them fixed as its possible this is where the water is seeping in.

I'm fairly certain that there are no obvious cracks for water ingress, but the moisture appears to be low down on the walls, near the floors.

Thanks John. I will have a word with Alan & Jenny, who look after the villa and get back to you.

hi if you gat it on first floor then water is passing down from above throgh the cavities in the clay bricks. Probably a roof issue.

If ground floor only then damp could be rising from below ground. Not easy to cure without a proper damp course.

Hi

I have a friend whom has a damp issue along with other owners. She was totally baffled by this problem.Only one one side of the property and a number of apt blocks had the same issue We happened to be using her apartment when we had the storms a month or so ago. The damp is coming from water that had pooled outside the apt on top of the external tiled walkways. The rain was also being driven into her apartment exterior corridor so had no chance of escape, her actual door frame was going rusty and a bolt hole in the bottom of the door filled up with water. We also noted this the case with the other apt blocks. All facing the weather, apart from an apt block that was angled so was not facing the driving rain storms by the door or corridor and had no damp issues.
