We've just had 11 days in TRNC and used an A-one car for I think the third time. I wouldn't know which was the best firm, but I can say that A-one is reliable and honest. There was some small confusion over the quoted price, but when I insisted that my price was what had been confirmed, Ismail didn't argue. The car was near-new and Larnaca transfers were carried out quickly and professionally at a good rate (GBP25 each way). Your rate works out to GBP15 per day, which you can compare with other firms. It's probably reasonable for the time of the year.

Although if you hire your car in the south you can tour all over the island and not just be stuck in the north. Horses for courses I suppose.

Use them all the time both for transfers and car hire, would recommend them every time, can't fault them. Broke down once on a Sunday afternoon and Ismail was there in half an hour ferried us home and sorted out the problem.

Oleander, it's no big deal taking a TRNC car south...I've done it with one of A-one's cars. And there are quite a few people who don't mind in the slightest being "stuck in the north"...

Certainly, breezyboy...you can't do it without their permission and a registration notice of some kind. You then have to go through the check point and get registered, and pay insurance. Not expensive. Their email address is : aone.rentacar@yahoo.com.tr

Another question I would like to ask is, do any of you travel in a party of four. I have had problems with transfers in the past when 4 of us with luggage, as the cars are not big enough. Are A ones cars a decent size. Normallly ours are Mercs but still struggle with luggage.

hi used them last year and year before , fantastic firm with brilliant staff. pick up at larnaca 4 adults 3 children and plenty of luggage all fitted no problem, when we picked up our car the boot was to small for all our cases so they drove behind us all the way to tatlisu and dropped of our gear at our apt, what more can i say wouldnt use any one else. also recomened to my family who have used them several times and not any issues at all.

Sounds like you bring too much luggage, Pearl. But it shouldn't matter. On our second last trip I had arranged to ship a jarrah coffee table from Australia to Cyprus, and it had to enter at Limmasol. I arranged a larger vehicle with Ismail, and the van he sent fitted the table quite comfortably. The driver met us in Limmasol, picked up the table and other luggage and took us all the way to Esentepe, all for the same GBP25 rate. Enough said...

it seems that car hire is very competitive in Cyprus and with boards like this it is not in any companies interests to be poor, ive used Baspanar and Pacific both spot on !
